Product information

  • Crusflex is an elastic, ready-to-use lower leg bandage that significantly simplifies wound care. Thanks to Velcro fasteners, it is elastic, adaptable and reclosable – and can be applied quickly and conveniently
  • The dressing is particularly impressive in the treatment of chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, other wound healing disorders and after operations thanks to its ease of use. It fixes primary dressings reliably and protects wound dressings or plasters securely without the need for additional scissors or fixation plasters.
  1. Pre-stretch the Crusflex at the lower end. Hold the seams firmly to prevent tearing. Align the opening with the Velcro fasteners towards the front.
  2. Pull the lower end over the foot up to the ankle: Hold the tabs of the opening close to the seam.
Optional: Spread the inner end by hand to reduce friction on the foot.
  3. Pre-fix the fasteners from bottom to top. Please ensure that both sides of the opening overlap sufficiently. Then readjust the fasteners.
  4. Ensure correct fit. Crusflex should extend from the ankle to below the knee and completely cover the wound dressing.
  5. The bandage should fit smoothly and without folds. Crusflex must not be too tight or cut into the skin and must have sufficient residual elasticity.
  6. The dressing can be easily opened and closed again to check the wound dressing. Regularly check that the dressing is clean. If necessary, fasteners can be tightened or loosened.
  • For a proper fit, there must be no folds, gaps or cavities and the material must not exert any compression – the correct size is crucial. Crusflex is only used on intact skin, which is why wounds must first be covered with a primary dressing.
  • Ideally, the dressing should be applied while the patient is sitting or lying down. A change is necessary daily for acute, infectious wounds, otherwise in the event of soiling, overstretching, tears or when changing the primary dressing. Thanks to the resealable Velcro fasteners, the wound can be checked without having to change the dressing completely.

Advantages when investing:

Advantages when wearing:

  • Soft fleece material: soft and breathable

  • Reclosable: no need to change the dressing when checking the wound

FAQ - our answers to frequently asked questions about Crusflex

Applying conventional secondary dressings to the lower leg requires a lot of time and expertise. Nursing staff spend a lot of time cutting and adjusting bandages with scissors and fixation plaster. Crusflex® leg is a time-saving alternative as a ready-to-use secondary dressing that does not need to be cut and therefore leaves no material residue. This ready-to-use bandage is quick and easy to apply and can be fixed and readjusted at any time using integrated Velcro fasteners.

This gives nursing staff more time for other tasks. In addition, the reclosability of Crusflex® leg enables wound inspection without a complete dressing change, which also saves time.

A secondary dressing is used to protect and secure primary dressings and wound dressings. An optimal fit is crucial for this. Conventional dressings require a lot of time and skill to shape and require scissors and plaster strips.

The ready-to-use Crusflex® leg secondary bandage for the lower leg offers a quick and easy solution thanks to its large opening, enormous elasticity and practical Velcro fasteners. Four sizes ensure the right fit. Thanks to the Velcro fasteners, patients can even readjust this bandage themselves.

Improper application of bandages to the lower leg can lead to severe compression or wrinkling: The resulting shearing forces and constrictions can cause pressure points and skin damage. This impairs wound healing and causes additional pain for the patient.

The Crusflex® leg secondary dressing minimizes this risk. In contrast to conventional secondary dressings, Crusflex® leg can be applied easily and correctly, even by non-professionals.

Crusflex® leg is used as a secondary dressing in the long-term treatment of patients with chronic wounds and wound healing disorders on the lower legs.

Typical areas of application for the dressing are conditions such as leg ulcers or post-operative wounds on the leg. Crusflex® leg facilitates the fixation of the primary dressing in wound care.

A chronic wound on the leg is first treated with a wound dressing or primary dressing, which is then fixed in place with a secondary dressing, such as bandages or tubular dressings. Conventional secondary dressings for the leg require a great deal of specialist knowledge and time.

The ready-to-use Crusflex® leg bandage is the uncomplicated alternative here: it is made of non-woven fabric with elastic threads and has practical Velcro fasteners that make it quick and easy to apply.

A secondary dressing is used to fix a wound dressing or primary dressing to the lower leg. Conventional secondary dressings require modeling – this requires scissors, fixation plasters, specialist knowledge and time.

Crusflex® leg, on the other hand, is an elastic, adaptable bandage for the leg on the lower leg that is ready to use and can be applied without additional accessories – even by non-professionals.

Arterial or venous circulatory disorders can lead to leg ulcers, also known as “open legs” – open, poorly healing wounds that need to be regularly treated and dressed. Special wound dressings are fixed in place with secondary dressings, whereby it is important to avoid pressure points.

The ready-to-use Crusflex® leg bandage is equipped with Velcro fasteners and, thanks to its innovative design, minimizes application errors that can lead to pressure sores.

The Crusflex® leg secondary dressing should be changed daily for acute, infectious wounds. Otherwise, it only needs to be changed in the event of soiling, overstretching or tears. In addition, the dressing on the leg should be replaced every time the primary dressing or the underlying wound dressing is changed.

If the wound on the leg is acutely infected, the Crusflex® leg secondary dressing must also be changed daily. Otherwise, it should be changed if the dressing is soiled, overstretched or torn. It also needs to be changed when the primary dressing is replaced.
